<div>Our legendary friend Roby Peabody has been a staple in the Telluride community for over 25 years. He was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. This comes as quite a shock to Roby and all of us. What started as a chest cold soon revealed a devastating secret lurking below. It has spread to his spine and now excruciating back pain is hindering his super active and physical lifestyle and profession. This GoFundMe has been created to help support Roby’s quality of life by removing some of the financial burden of battling cancer.

<div>For those of you who don’t know much about him, Roby owns and operates Telluride Forestry Solutions, a 12 year old tree removal business that also mitigates wild fire prevention, aids forest health, pest prevention and management.

<div>Roby is an avid snowboarder and respected bourbon aficionado. He is highly revered for his epic annual events such as the Telluride Nothing Festival, the Bourbon Wing Off and the famed Lunar Cup backcountry ski race. Roby is an absolute legend and he brings so much joy and laughter to this community.

<div>Roby is receiving this daunting diagnosis just as he has recently healed and rehabilitated two consecutive knee replacements. He has only recently been cleared to get back on the mountain he so dearly loves. Now, his condition has him once more in crippling pain, and he’s unable to enjoy his favorite sport again.

<div>The physical challenges of his business as an forester are also in jeopardy as this is an emotionally difficult and financially distressing time.

Roby Peabody - To help battle stage 4 lung cancer

<div>On October 5 our dear friend Neddie Troutman was involved in a rollover accident on HWY 184 between Dolores and Mancos and she and her beloved dog Hala miraculously survived! I also want to note that the accident WAS NOT her fault as recorded by the local county sheriff's department. Neddie has a deep head wound, a cracked spine and lots of bumps and bruises but she is ALIVE! Unfortunately, her infamous red truck is totaled and she is left without a ride. If you know Neddie, one of her favorite things to do is load up her truck, her dog, and her tunes and head out for a drive to Telluride or to her favorite dude ranch nearby. I'd love to see if we can all pitch in to raise money for a new whip for Neddie and Hala. Also, if you have an all-wheel drive or better that you're interested in selling, please let us know. NEDDIE NEEDS A RIDE

<div>Im Diane Schliep, Approximately three years ago, I developed a friend ship with Lander. Since he was at my house every single day for the better part of the year we developed a kinship. He was quiet, focused, concise and extremely helpful. Lander is a 38 single father, who is very devoted to his nine-year-old son Ryder. Often, during breaks, I heard Lander talking to teachers or doctors making sure Ryder was advocated for. As a fatherless daughter, I found this paternal relationship comforting, and it gained my respect; I could see his boy was Lander’s everything, his world.

<div>I was very impressed with another aspect of my friend Lander, he was one of the hardest workers in construction as well as super-skilled wood finisher. He did much of the pounding and cutting to form and frame the home that I live in now. 
</div>
<div>Lander was originally from telluride, now a local in our Ventura mountains in Oak view. Fast forward a couple years and a few weeks ago, I learned my friend Lander has Ganglio-neuro-blastoma, stage 4 which has spread to his abdomen the size of a grapefruit surrounding his clavicle, heart and lymph nodes. After chemo, he will need a six-figure surgery with two surgeons to remove the tumor because it’s growing around his aorta so he will need a heart bypass as well. He also will need to do weeks of isolation and stem cell which include blood transfusions.

<div>I decided this was a good cause to ask my friends and family and their friends and family to consider donating anything comfortable to be able to help my friend Lander and his son Ryder get through this very challenging time.

To those of you who know Mindy, you know her as a loud, boisterous, and loving of all, including dogs (she might even love dogs more than humans?)  After months of pain and searching for an answer, she was finally diagnosed with colon cancer late last summer.  We have had several ups and downs on the medical assessments journey: from “you’re only going to have surgery”, to: “you’ll have to do nine months of chemo and radiation then surgery.” Now here we are with the reality:  Mindy did have a successful surgery in November to remove the cancer mass, but she is now up against 6 months of chemotherapy.<br /><br />My sister is not one to ask for help, but I know she needs this right now.  She has not been able to work.  In her community in Telluride, so many know her because she walks local dogs.  When I was there recently, I was amazed that even dogs she does not walk knew her.  Due to her chemo treatments, she is not able to be out in the cold, and initial treatment left her feeling ill and weak afterward.<br /><br />I know that without her income, and her partner, Chris, who will be taking off work to get her to/from remote treatments, the travel expenses alone are quickly adding up.<br /><br />Even though she did not want me to do this, I assure you she will be appreciative of the support.  Your contribution will help her, her daughter and her partner pay bills, buy food, and put gas in the car to get to her treatments.
