Support Jeannie's Dementia Care Initiative

Hi! my name is Jeannie I am a RN, BSN who works with the elderly especially with those with Dementia and Alzheimers’s Disease. These disorders cause memory loss, difficulty speaking, and understanding and expressing thoughts. Engaging in activities is essential for dementia residents to promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

As seen across the United States with budget constraints, staffing, and resources it is often difficult to maintain the social interaction that residents so desperately need and deserve.

My goal is to raise the money needed to purchase a dementia live table and donate that to a local very caring committee to be used by very deserving residents. The table provides interactive games and is designed for seniors living with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease and can be played individually or in groups.

If you can’t donate, please share, or consider volunteering at one of the many long term care facilities throughout Blair County.

If you have or had a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease, with any donation, their name will be placed on a purple remembrance ribbon to be displayed at the time of the donation of the table. Please leave their name in the comments. Thank you.
