Support Jay Winkler’s (JC) Critical Medical Recovery

My brother Jay Winkler (JC) has always been a wonderful friend. Jay has and would give a stranger the shirt off his back. He now is in an emergency situation and as his sister, I would like to ask for help in return for all I know he has done for so many.

Jay has been hospitalized for what he thought was COVID. Unfortunately, he had no idea that there, in fact, was a massive infection spreading through his blood to his neck, shoulder, and spine. He has already had three emergency surgeries, the last being 8 hours long as neurosurgeons were tasked with replacing all the discs in his back as they were infected. He is currently in ICU on life support. He is stable and alive, thank God. Actually, thank you, Mom . But he has a very long road ahead and remains in critical condition. There will be multiple more surgeries, 8 weeks of IV antibiotics, and hopefully rehab.

Unfortunately, he did not plan for this and does not have health insurance, so this is a massive financial burden as well. We have applied for assistance and hope that will help with the medical bills. Jay lives far up in the mountains off-grid in Colorado and is 5 hours from his home as he needs specialty care in a large city.

Jay has two children, Tess, who is currently in nursing school and needs to get back to college today, she has been at her Dad’s bedside for days …and Jack, who is fortunate enough as a new grad to work remotely for a while and take care of his Dad’s home and animals. We have to maintain Jay’s off gris home so he has somewhere to return when he comes through all

of this. !!So anyway, we need help. Anything anyone can offer would be so helpful and greatly appreciated!!! All money will go 100% to supporting his recovery, God willing he makes it through :). Prayers accepted as well!!
