HELP! The Nadeau Family Needs More Square Footage!
Alright, folks—it takes a village, and right now, our friends Jay and Marisa need theirs to assemble like the Avengers.
For the past 18 months, they’ve been tangled up in the wildest interstate foster system saga, working to bring home two incredible kids, J-boy (6) and J-girl (5). And after all that paperwork, stress, and approximately one million emails, they are SO CLOSE to making it official.
But here’s the problem: their house is currently the size of a shoebox.
When J-boy and J-girl came to visit, it became painfully obvious that squeezing FOUR kids into their current place just ain’t it. Their lease is up in April, so the time is NOW to upgrade to a home where everyone can breathe (and, you know, actually move).
And because this is an interstate foster arrangement, here’s the kicker: they are receiving ZERO financial support from either state. No foster care stipend. No assistance. Nothing. They are doing this 100% on their own—because they know it’s the right thing to do.
So, we need to raise $8,000 to cover:
First and last month’s rent
Security deposit
Annoying application fees
️ Bedroom furniture so the kids don’t have to sleep in a blanket fort (as cool as that sounds)
Moving costs because, shocker, moving four kids is NOT a cheap or easy task
The million little things that come with setting up a home for two new kiddos (toothbrushes, bedding, therapy toys, and, let’s be real, snacks—LOTS of snacks)
Meet the Nadeau Family – The Real-Life Superheroes
Marisa – The Ultimate Mom & Most Selfless Woman on Earth
When we pick godparents for our kids, we never really expect them to step up in the way Marisa has. The moment she found out that her God babies were being placed in the system, she DID NOT HESITATE. She ran full-speed into the absolute chaos of interstate foster care—because she knew in her soul that she was meant to do this. There is no red tape, no challenge, and no system too big to stop her from doing what’s right.
Jay – Walking Medical Miracle & Best Dad Ever
Jay was never supposed to live past 3 years old—but guess what? He turns 50 this year. Born with cerebral palsy, he’s beaten every odd thrown at him. He’s an incredible dad, a constant source of love and support, and most importantly, he gets what these kids have been through. Jay was in the foster system himself, and he’s determined to make sure Jayden and Jade never feel alone in this journey.
Victoria (8) – Big Sister Extraordinaire
Victoria is an empathetic, unicorn-loving queen who has taken her new big sister role VERY seriously. She and Jade have already bonded over makeup, all things pink, and their shared sassiness.
James (11) – The Big Brother with a Big Heart
James is the protector, the encourager, and the leader of the sibling crew. He’s open-minded, passionate about diversity and inclusion, and basically a future world-changer. There is no doubt he’s going to be the best big brother to Jayden and Jade.
Meet the Newest Nadeaus!
⭐ J-boy (6) – A total sweetheart who loves his tablet, superheroes, SpongeBob, and building stuff. He’s also a dog person (so obviously a good kid) and has a thing for horseback riding. J-boy is autistic, and Jay & Marisa are diving headfirst into learning how to support him.
⭐ J-girl (5) – Tiny but FIERCE. She’s got the cutest evil laugh and enough sass to keep everyone on their toes. She has Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD), which makes forming relationships tricky, but when she visited, she was handing out hugs like Oprah gives away cars. With love and stability, she’s going to thrive.
Both kids have been through way too much in their short lives, and their biological parents have lost parental rights. Jay and Marisa are committed to giving them the safe, loving home they deserve—but they need our help to make it happen.
So, if you can donate, you’re officially a hero. If you can’t donate but can share this, you’re still a hero. Either way, LET’S DO THIS.
Because no kid should have to sleep in a hallway, and Jay and Marisa didn’t spend 18 months battling bureaucracy just to end up playing extreme Tetris with bunk beds.
Let’s help them make room for J-boy & J-girl!
