Hello, my name is Jasper Yue, and I am a Life Scout with Troop 423 in Plainview NY. For my Eagle Scout project, I have the incredible opportunity to lead the transformation of a neglected, overgrown strip of land at Shelter rocks Syosset Campus into a beautiful and peaceful meditation garden for our entire community to enjoy. Right now, the space beside our church is covered in poison ivy, tangled vines, and layers of old leaves. My vision is to turn this space into a place of reflection, prayer, and peace. The garden will include, A central gravel path symbolizing our spiritual walk. Six tall wooden stakes, each displaying a different engraved Bible verse, placed along the path to represent milestones in a journey of faith. Lush,shaded garden beds filled with perennial flowers to add beauty and life, and benches to accomodate the area. This project is the culmination of years of hard work in Scouting, and it’s my chance to give back and demonstrate leadership through service.
