My name is J & I am a proud father to four beautiful keiki here on the Island of Kaua’i where I was born & raised. Feel free to do your due diligence & you will find that I am very family-oriented, community-driven & always show up for any keiki, family member, friend or kupuna that needs Aloha. As I have expressed since day one in my statements to the Courts; I have nothing to hide & our home has always been open. We are drug & violence free & often share our time & resources with other children; they all know they are safe, loved & supported in the Ladera Household.
We have created this GoFundMe because we can no longer stay silent about the very real issues we are facing within the legal system simply because I as a Father have been fighting to protect my children who are victims of abuse. Many have come to us & shared that they too are victims of Family Court delays, excessive motions filed by corrupt attorneys & overall legal abuse & extortion, Child Welfare Services failures to properly investigate, Kauai Police Department harassment & an overall broken Judicial system that seems to aid & abet criminals, exposing our most vulnerable populations to the worst, often impossible situations.
I, J. Ladera, am a victim of domestic abuse. All four of my children are victims of child abuse. All of those who stand up for my children are also victims of abuse, stalking, defamation & outright terrorism. We all share the same abuser… For an abuser who can no longer exercise coercive control through physical & emotional tactics within the home, they turn to the family court system, where they weaponize family court professionals to maintain power & control. This type of legal abuse often takes an even greater toll on survivors than the physical & emotional abuse they endured for years, especially as they watch helplessly as their children are victims & every effort made to protect them within the lawful systems, fails.
Racism, nepotism, cronyism & an overall lack of accountably here on Kauai has enabled many abusers to not only get away with their crimes against humanity, but allow them to continue to hurt more victims as they learn to weaponize all agencies into legal abuse. Sadly the systemic corruption deeply embedded in the culture here in Kauai contributes to more vulnerable populations becoming increasingly disadvantaged & high risk simply because many do not “want” to believe that these issues are actually happening & that a lawful system will not do the right thing or that a biological parent would do this to their own children, despite thousands of precedents island-wide, statewide & worldwide of this exact behavior happening & leading to death by an unstable parent.
After the KPD Blues documentary released, locals began actively suggesting “if you want to commit murder & get away with it; come to Kauai.” This is so commonly said in casual conversation as if it’s a badge of honor… This shows how normalized consistently unjust behavior has become engrained in our island society just like “they took the envelope” is an everyday justification for nothing being doing for the actual constituents & a hive-mind way to avoid reality & accountability. I for one would love to see a forensic audit of Kauai County as I have seen hundreds of incidents in my case alone where tax dollars are being misappropriated & in many cases… Used to financially extort our people & enable predators.
Our Ohana is one of MANY that needs the support of everyone to continue to fight to protect our children from being the next Missing Child poster, trafficked youth or sadly; being the next candlelight vigil like too many keiki in Hawaii who didn’t survive their abusers…
