Support Jason Wills: A Father’s Fresh Start This Christmas

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Queenie, and I’m raising funds to support Jason Wills, a devoted father from Grande Prairie who has shown incredible strength through recovery and hardship.

Jason is over 400 days sober and currently studying to become an addictions and mental health professional so he can give back to others. Due to limited income, ongoing health challenges, and a recent hospitalization, he’s facing an especially difficult winter and will be spending Christmas receiving care.

This fundraiser will help Jason with basic necessities, food, and the chance to host a simple Christmas meal for his 9-year-old child when he is discharged. Every donation, big or small, helps lift a huge weight off his shoulders and reminds him he’s not alone.

Thank you for your kindness, support, and for sharing if you’re able.

JASON’S STORY FROM GRANDE PRAIRIE PAGE

“Hello Grande Prairie I have been separated from My wife for 5 years. We have a 9 year old with type 1 diabetes. Thus past year has been super hard on my family. I started the year off in recovery at rising above. During my time there I started schooling to become addictions and mental health professional so that I may give back what was so freely given to me. Once I graduated I moved into second stage sober living sponsored by rising above as well. I have been struggling so much. I am currently on Alberta works because school takes up all my time. My cheque is 844.00 per month and which 600 goes to rent and another 100 to pay various bills and keep creditors off my back. The 144.00 I am left with is left for food, toiletries, and other essentials. I usually have to go to food bank to eat around day 12 of the month. Lately its so cold and because I dont drive its been even harder. Well last night I ended up in the hospital with heart and kidney issues. I was told today that it was all caused by stress, dehydration and trauma that has occurred this past year of sobriety (402 days clean and sober today). The ended up admitting me to the psych ward at the new hospital for severe depression and anxiety I am going to be here over Christmas. I would love for when I get out to invite my 9 year old and my ex wife over for a Christmas supper. I couldnt afford any presents for my kids. Please consider me for your donation as i could use a smile right know.“
