Hello! Many of you reading this most likely not only known Jason and I, but have probably have impacted us more than you you know. That being said, I'm hoping to share a part of our family story that you may have never heard and hope to inspire you to be a part of our future, yet to be fulfilled.
Jason and I met in Youngstown, OH attending bible college. We became friends hanging out between classes and started dating the summer of 2010. We got married in 2015 and moved to North Carolina the next day where Jason was stationed in the United States Marine Corps. Jason and I have been married for 9 years (in a few short weeks)! It's hard to believe it has been that long in some ways, but in some ways we have filled those years with more experiences than some people see in a lifetime. After his contract ended, we decided to move back to Ohio to be close to our families.
As most married couples, we thought we would have a few years together and begin our family effortlessly. We both come from "bigger families" (Jason one of eleven siblings and me one of four) and we have always wanted 5 of our own. We have had endless conversations of how would raise our children, dreaming of raising our kids along side our siblings and friends... but that day never came. We had our first miscarriage Christmas day 2019. It was difficult, but also filled us with hope as we had not had an indication of getting pregnant thus far. Unfortunately, that has been followed with years of nothing yet again.
Then in December 2023, something changed. There's no way to describe it other than the Lord did a work in our hearts. We decided that we were going to start pursuing foster care & adoption. We have loved the season of loving on our MANY nieces and nephews, but we are excited to take the next step to grow our family! We are working with an agency in Columbus and hope to be ready for placement in the next month or two. In the meantime, we are working diligently to prepare our hearts and our home for these kiddos.
We have a lot of preparation needed in a very short time and in lieu of the traditional baby shower, we are asking our friends, family, or anyone willing, if you feel led to make a donation towards our family's future. This will go towards some state required house updates, many, many items needed to care for a young child, and hopefully fund an adoption!
We cannot know our future, but we know it is secure in the Lord's hands. We look forward to being the hands and feet of Jesus to any littles we have the privilege of caring for. We have been blessed in so many ways and do not often ask for help, but we need your prayers and support during this season. We know He will provide everything else. We cannot wait to share the next piece of the story with you!
