Help Us Support Our Mom in Her Final Days

Hi, my name is Jared, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, who is currently in hospice care due to terminal small cell lung cancer.

The past few months have been the hardest we’ve ever faced. My mom’s cancer is rare, aggressive, and has progressed to the point that she now requires 24-hour care. I made the decision to leave my job and move over an hour away from home to take care of her full-time — something I don’t regret for a second, but it has left us in a very difficult place financially.

Because I haven’t been able to work, we’ve fallen behind on basic needs: rent, utilities, and even groceries. Her food stamp benefits were recently cut off, and her monthly income is not enough to cover her bills. We rely on the kindness of friends who bring us food just to make it through the week.

My mother is a loving woman who always put her children and grandchildren first. It breaks my heart to see her suffering — not just from the cancer, but from the stress of worrying whether we’ll have enough food each day.

We are humbly asking for help during this final stretch of her journey. Any amount — no matter how small — would go toward keeping the lights on, putting food in the kitchen, and allowing us to focus on giving her peace, love, and comfort in these final days.
