Help Jane Ransom Ease Her Family's Burden
My name is Ellen, this GoFundMe page is for Jane Ransom and her daughters Elizabeth, Abigail and Megan. I have been friends with Jane for almost 20 years; she is more than just a friend, she's like a second mom to me. Her daughter Elizabeth is my heart sister.
Update: I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while, Jane's care has been all consuming. Hospice care provides medication and some supplies for family and friends to take care of the person in hospice care. Jane needs continuous round the clock care, which is being handling by Jane's daughters and myself. Over the past 6 months she has deteriorated to the point she is now bedridden.
Jane's Story
Two years ago, Jane developed a rare, devastating infection - skull base osteomyelitis. For almost a year, doctors misdiagnosed her condition, allowing the infection to spread aggressively. By the time she was properly diagnosed in July of 2023, the damage was irreversible.
Why Am I Raising Money?
Jane is receiving hospice care now and her family is grappling with overwhelming medical debt - after more than a year and a half of trying to slow the progression of the disease, hospital stays, and costly supplies. Her daughter has sacrificed so much between driving hundreds of miles for doctor appointments, maxed out credit cards, and putting her own life on hold to try to help Jane.
