Hello, my name is Jillian. I am raising funds to put toward a camper van for my son Jake and myself to live and travel in.

Jake is 11 and has Down Syndrome. I could have never imagined the struggles and the trauma we would endure in this life because of his different abilities, not disability. Unfortunately, the school district here would not listen to what I was telling them was best for my child. So, like so many parents of kids who learn differently, I had no choice but to homeschool.

This past year had added challenges, like living in three homes where the police needed to be called to handle violent outbursts due to drunkenness and unchecked mental issues. We were planning on heading North in June. However a debilitating head injury has kept me here. Almost 6 months later I am still waiting on medication and treatment approval. This was followed by months living in a women's shelter, listening to crazy women yell and swear at their children. We are grateful to be tent living on a peaceful property. However, it's winter and sturdy shelter would be awesome. We want to head South after the Holidays to share Jake's love and light. And keep on following the climate that suit our clothes!

This little boy is a beacon of joy and happiness and shines light to everyone he meets. He is a born entertainer and loves to dance! So we are starting Jamming With Jake, online and downtown live and in person. I am also working on getting my Sparky Hoops for Hope involved with community events to unite people through dance and fun!

I know there are so many other people, all over the world, who are suffering right now. I want to be able to pay it forward by sharing our happiness and love as far and wide as our wings will carry us.
