8/5/24 Update - Jamie has sadly passed away. She has gone home to be with God, and is finally pain free.
7/30/24 Update - From the bottom of our hearts we just want to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who has shared our posts, donated to the GoFund me, given a meal, stopped by the house to give something or donated to Jason directly when you see him around town. Please continue to share and donate! It means so much that our community was able to rally together to help our family. Hospice has been in to make Jamie more comfortable. They have set up a bed for her in the living room so she can still watch her favorite shows, along with giving her a wheelchair so her family can cart her around on their adventures.
Yesterday she was able to take a trip to Old Orchard Beach and get her toes in the sand one last time. Our family is so thankful for every moment with her and we continue to pray to God for peace and pain-free days. Jamie is a fighter and always has been. She is not going to just sit back and die, although there is no treatment available she is still fighting every day. She doesn’t have it tattooed on her body for no reason, she truly is a WARRIOR. (4th photo is her Warrior tattoo in Italian)
Our family was given the worst news possible this past week. Many know that Jamie has been battling pancreatic cancer and chronic pancreatitis for the past 7 years. She underwent the Whipple surgery in 2020 that miraculously added these past 4 years to her life.
This past weekend she was transferred to EMMC where they told her she has a large mass in her abdomen, which was missed on her scan she had just received the results for earlier in the week. She currently has 90% of blood flow cut off to her stomach and organs in her abdomen because the mass is squeezing her artery. This is causing her organs to die and she is unable to retain nutrients from any food she is able to get down. The doctors have given her a timeline between 2 weeks and 6 months.
Her husband Jason has been out of work close to two months due to his declining health and surgery recovery. Currently there is no income coming into the home other than Jamie’s social security, which unfortunately will end when she passes.
We are asking for donations to help with travel expenses and end of life care, as well as funeral expenses as she has no life insurance. Any additional funds will be used towards normal bills, and care for her daughter as her youngest starts high school in the fall.
