Hello everyone, I’m Rey Ortiz, friend of James Makel. Anyone that knows James and I personally knows that James is my brother by love. James and I have been friends since kindergarten, if not longer. It is with a heavy heart that I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my brother.

James has been battling cancer for a few years now and recently the diagnosis has turned terminal. The doctors are giving James six months to live, but we all know that God has the final say.

James has been a friend to numerous people; he has touched many lives, which is why James has many brothers by love, along with his biological siblings. James is a father of five, one of whom has already received her wings. He has two grandchildren along with countless nieces and nephews that he loves and cherishes.

We, the family, would love to raise money for James to possibly send him to Texas or some place to receive other treatments that he has not yet tried and is not available here in New York, where he resides. If that is not possible, at the very least, we would like to raise funds to give him a proper homegoing if his Father God decides to call him home and relieve him of his current pain and suffering.
