Hi! My name is James Agib, and I’m a Life Scout with Troop 762 in Yorba Linda, CA, currently working toward earning my Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement in Scouting.
As part of this rank, I’m required to plan and lead a service project that benefits a local community, school, or church. I’ve chosen to give back to a place that has shaped who I am: Saint Mary and Saint Verena Coptic Orthodox Church (SMSV). My family has been part of this church since we moved to California in 2004.
Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in the church community. I attend Sunday School regularly, serve as a deacon during liturgies, and have been part of St. Verena Hymns School since 2021. I’ve also volunteered every summer at Kids Kamp and helped organize the 2024 Annual Festival. One of the biggest ways I’ve grown spiritually and socially is through our Friday night youth meetings, which have helped me deepen my faith and build lifelong friendships.
For my Eagle Project, I will be building two outdoor storage sheds next to the church kitchen. These sheds will help store equipment for SMSV’s Annual Festival, such as tables, grills, and other supplies. This will make setup and cleanup easier for volunteers and will improve the organization and appearance of the church grounds.
My goal is to complete this project by the end of September 2025, and I’m asking for your help to make it possible. All donations will go directly toward project costs including wood, paint, hardware, and tools.
All donations are being raised on behalf of Saint Mary and Saint Verena Coptic Orthodox Church.
Thank you so much for supporting me, my Eagle journey, and the church community that has supported me throughout my life.
Every donation, no matter the size, truly helps.
With gratitude,
James Agib
