Support James and Michael's Choir Tour Adventure

Donation protected
James and Michael have the opportunity to go on tour with their choir to South Africa!

When James first joined the Keystone State Boychoir (now Commonwealth Youth Choir) in 3rd grade, he heard all about the South African tour that the older boys had been on, and learned the songs they brought home with them. James' enthusiasm for singing was so contagious that Michael joined the next year during 2nd grade. The songs and choreography from the tour to South Africa have been passed down year after year by the oldest boys and they are an encore favorite--sometimes continuing out on to the sidewalk after concerts too!

Their choir has been on many tours over the years but the tour to South Africa has made the greatest impact on our sons. They vibrate with joy when they sing those songs and now they actually have the chance to go.

As you might imagine, the all-in cost of a tour like this is expensive and while financial aid is helping, we need more support. In a beautiful conversation about how to navigate this opportunity, the children decided that James is the priority for this tour, so it is his travel costs we will use these funds for first. With our own contribution and financial assistance, we have estimated the remaining costs for James to be $3,000-3,500, and costs for Michael to be an additional 4,000-5,000. If Michael is unable to join this year, any funds raised above James' costs will be placed in a separate account and earmarked for a similar opportunity for Michael in the future. If however, there is enough, we will send these brothers on the trip of a lifetime.

Here's the fun stuff--it's a two week tour! The singers will arrive in Johannesburg and their adventures include:
