Dear friends of Jalena and Paisios,

I am Kate Vest, a close friend of the newlywed couple. As many of you have heard, Jalena and Paisios tied the knot on June 1st at St. Catherine’s Greek Orthodox Church. Their wedding was an incredibly beautiful celebration of sacramental union, and the joy of the couple witnessed by family and friends was truly palpable. Jalena and Paisios had plans to enjoy a peaceful honeymoon in Jamaica, but after only one day of serenity, the couple came down with E. coli and salmonella. For the next week, they suffered greatly and could barely leave their hotel room. Jalena and Paisios survived their first bumpy week of marriage, barely avoiding the Jamaican ER, and they chose to grow closer together. Despite the nightmarish turnout of their honeymoon, the couple has remained humble, not complaining once, and they trust that God is working in their lives. Their virtuous attitude is commendable, and it is clear that they deserve another chance to actually have a decent honeymoon.
