Hello friends,

This GoFundMe has been created to honor the life and legacy of Jacob Ryan Madder, who passed away on May 17, 2025, at the age of 22.

Jacob was kind-hearted, funny, and deeply compassionate. He had a rare ability to bring a smile to everyone he met. His generosity, warmth, and genuine love for others lit up our lives, and we hope to honor his memory by continuing to spread the kindness and goodness he so freely shared.

The funds raised through this campaign will be used by Jacob’s family to establish a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with the working title “Jake’s Kitchen.” This nonprofit will provide free meals to those in need through a food truck—an idea rooted in Jacob’s passion for cooking and his love of preparing food for others.

Jake’s Kitchen will operate on a “pay it forward” model. Those who are able to pay for their meals will help cover the cost for those who cannot. Built on principles of compassion, generosity, and community, the food truck’s menu will proudly feature Jacob’s famous Chicago Dog recipe.

The food truck will partner with local organizations to deliver free meals to individuals experiencing food insecurity and hardships such as homelessness, domestic abuse, and addiction. It will also serve underserved communities identified through local data and outreach partners, and provide meals during times of crisis or natural disasters.

While this is an ambitious fundraising goal, every donation—no matter the size—is deeply appreciated. Each contribution helps transform Jacob’s legacy into meaningful action, spreading light, hope, and nourishment in the world, just as he did.
