Support Jaira's Healing

Our friend Jaira, musician, artist, and new father, could use our financial support right now. A loving father of two, he was recently laid off and has not had stable housing, a reliable car, or been able to meet many of his basic needs. This fundraiser will be used to secure housing, food, phone bills, safe and legal transportation, and general life needs.

If you have known Jaira, you know that he is creative, tough, and independent. For most of his adult life he has been able to make his own way. Now he could use our help getting through a really tough time that no one should have to endure alone. With the encouragement of this friends and therapist, Jaira bravely asked for our help in creating this fundraiser. In his own words:

"My name is Jaira Donery and I am a musician, artist, and Tarot reader from Minneapolis. I am also the father of new twin boys, Boe and Arrow, who are incredible. I am currently going through a very hard time. Our family was displaced this summer and we have had to stay with family in Waconia, and we have continued to struggle to find housing. Being faced with homelessness is stressful and traumatizing on its own; doing so with newborn infants has been increbible hard. Prior to losing our previous housing we tried everything to find housing, but were repeatedly rejected due to some past debts impacting our credit score. I have been working as a barback in Uptown providing our only income, and was recently laid off. The stress of this entire situation has taken a real toll on my mental health, and after several months working through this I have realized I need to take time to focus on my own mental stability under all this stress, so that I can then focus on getting back on m feet, so I can then support my family and be part of their lives fully."
