Hello! I want to start by saying thank you so much for reading our story! We are humbled and thankful you are here, even if it is simply to take time to read our story and share it if you are not in a place you can or feel called to help support our journey. We appreciate your time, effort and consideration in any capacity. We are grateful that you chose to read and share in hopes we can take action to improve Jacque’s quality of life greatly and make our dreams of becoming parents to children earth-side come true post-op❤️.

We are Andrew and Jacque Dax. Andrew and I have been married and working on growing our family for nearing 5 years. Andrew and I have dedicated much of our professional and personal lives to children and adults with special needs. Each having siblings with Autism, it is something we are very passionate about and pour our entire hearts into.

Andrew has worked with children and adults with special needs for over 16 years in multiple environments. He currently works as a Physical Therapist at a private practice after graduating just last year. Andrew is working on the growth and development of his own new business after his normal working hours and every weekend. Jacque has worked in healthcare across disciples and environments for approximately 15 years from populations of geriatric to pediatric and those of typical and differing abilities. Jacque currently works in the field of Applied Behavioral Analysis where she dedicates so much of her time and heart to helping families, especially of low income, navigate and access vitally needed care. Jacque successfully completed a multi-year immersive pilot program with Mesa Public Schools last year as an early education and special education teacher supporting children with special needs, autism, high aggression, medically frail and complex as well as typically developing children in an inclusion environment at a title-1 and choice school.

Jacque and Andrew have both previously worked as registered behavioral therapist for children with autism and special needs and continue to apply their knowledge and backgrounds to support children in their work, volunteer, community work and personal time.

We have been through a lot over the years between heartbreaking loss and failed adoptions, trying so diligently to grow our family. We have encountered multi-factor infertility challenges and though we now have clear answers, an extremely highly viable prognosis and plan of care, we have encountered an immediate and significant financial barrier while navigating new-graduate, cost of living and significant medical costs.

Jacque currently suffers with a benign condition categorized as in the top 5-10 most painful yet discovered which impacts her daily life. Despite this, her determination and never ceasing desire to support the kiddos who depend on her fuels her though her toughest days. She is one tough cookie! Surgery is needed and will have significant, immediate and long-lasting positive impacts across all areas of her life. There are only 2-3 surgeons in the U.S. able to take the case and we have finally, after years, found a surgeon who is qualified for the scope and complexity of the case, who has accepted and contacted us TODAY with immediate plans and steps forward for surgery.

We had our first official IVF consult yesterday, an appointment we have been working towards for YEARS after planning, preparing and saving diligently. During the appointment, we learned Jacque experienced possible medical malpractice during a poorly executed earlier surgery for her quality of life that has impacted the urgency and need for immediate action to harvest her eggs for embryos so she can proceed with said urgently needed surgery that will greatly reduce her daily pain, allow her to continue working, greatly improve her overall quality of life and allow us to move forward with growing our family.

This surgery is urgent, but yesterday we learned egg harvesting is absolutely necessary before hand, otherwise we run the risk of losing the ability to conceive our children in the future due to the actions of the previous surgeon who performed a procedure during surgery without informed consent and has placed us in our current position with heavy hearts.

We have learned that our insurance will not cover any of these fertility procedures because though they are urgent and absolutely medically necessary, they are still categorized as strictly elective fertility interventions given little-no research on the condition and woman’s health concerns globally. This procedure and egg harvesting requires full up/front payment for the entire IVF process that will take place prior to the surgery, followed by implantation of embryos 4-8 weeks post-op. We are humbly seeking support of our community to help make Jacques surgery and our dreams of becoming parents to children on earth come true. If you feel so called, you can donate to our fund. Thank you so much, and God bless.

With care, Jacque and Andrew
