A note from Alyssa:

On behalf of myself, Jasper and Ben, I’d like to express how much it means to be seen, held and cared for at this time. You all have helped me to breathe easier in this time, and I’m passing condolences along to the boys. They both returned to school today, and said it was “fine” :) We are doing our best, trying to remember the good moments with Jacob, and seek understanding and acceptance as we move forward. The meal train organized by our local community has filled the house with yummy meals, which is great because I feel like it’s hard to focus on anything except making sure that these guys are ok ❤️

Jacob Shafer passed unexpectedly on May 26th. He leaves behind two amazing sons - Jasper (age 16) and Ben (age 13). With the sudden loss of their father, the family will have many expenses to navigate, including travel and funeral expenses.

Alyssa wants to make sure their sons can continue previously scheduled summer plans, including sending Ben to Camp Winnarainbow and helping Jasper get his license. We are reaching out to our community for support.
