Help Shannan Delisle a Single Mom
Support Her Son Jack's Fight Against Cancer
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
My grandson Jayden's mother, Shannan Delisle, is facing every parent's worst nightmare—her 10-year-old son, Jack, has been diagnosed with a tumor wrapped around his main artery and heart, most concerning for neuroblastoma or ganglioneuroblastoma. This is a rare and serious diagnosis that requires specialized care, and his treatment will take place at the Children’s Hospital in Boston, over 60 miles from their home in York Beach, Maine.
The Medical Battle Ahead
After multiple tests, doctors found a 4.3 x 1.7 x 6.9 cm tumor near his spine that requires aggressive treatment. Thankfully, it has not invaded major nerves or large blood vessels. Further testing determined how advanced it was, and the surgeons scheduled the operation for the 21st of March. The plan is to surgically remove the tumor and on successful removal start a chemo regimen.
Despite having insurance through Aetna and MaineCare, Shannan Delisle has faced possible limitations on several necessary procedures, requiring her to advocate tirelessly for her son's care. Alongside the medical challenges, the financial burden of this journey has been overwhelming."
Why We Need Your Help
To be by her son’s side, Shannan Delisle needs to take an unpaid leave of absence from work for the duration of his treatment. The family will also face significant costs, including:
Travel expenses (frequent trips between York Beach and Boston)
Lodging in Boston so she can stay close to her son
Medical expenses not covered by insurance
Everyday bills and household expenses while she is out of work
How You Can Help
We are asking for any support—big or small—to help ease the financial burden for Shannan Delisle so she can focus on what truly matters: her son’s fight for survival.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward lodging, travel, medical bills, and essential living expenses. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Jack in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With overwhelming gratitude,
Shannan Delisle, Jack, and family
