Support Jacey’s (aka Autumn’s)Journey to Her Forever Family

Thank you all for your prayers and donations! I (Kelsey/mom) wanted to get on and send an update! Jacey has now been with us almost 6 months! She blends perfectly into our family like she’s always been here.

Since we first posted she has turned 16, started homeschooling with her younger sisters and built amazing relationships with our whole family.

Jacey has decided to change her name when she’s adopted. She would like to be called Autumn Alisa Rain Peterson. We are still trying to get used to the name change to Autumn so it’s likely you will see us call her both until we are used to it!

Since my unexpected emergency surgery last February I haven’t been able to work which has given me tons of time home with the girls. But this has also been a challenge for us financially. I am hoping to get back to work eventually as I’m still recovering. I have been taking online courses to get my Real Estate license which will be flexible and allow me to still homeschool and be there for the girls.

With my recovery from surgery this has also slowed down the fundraising efforts. As I’m healing we have been preparing for a HUGE garage sale where we will sell used and new items as well as some handmade jewelry and things that the girls, Grammy and I have made. We will update with the funds that are raised through the sale!

Original First Post- Hi, we are Kelsey and Colton Peterson. We are raising funds to adopt our oldest daughter, Jacey.

We are so incredibly blessed to have Jacey in our lives, and her younger sisters are so happy to have a big sister!

Jacey had a very rough start to her life, and due to recent changes in her care, we chose to take her in when she had nowhere else to go.

Jacey is 15 years old. She is beautiful, smart, kind, and the perfect addition to our family. We love her, and our goal and our mission is to make her a permanent part of our family.

Because Jacey has been adopted in the past by relatives, and the fact that she is not in the foster care system, our only option is a private adoption.

We have spoken to every local

agency and our lawyer, and we have learned that since we are not legally her family, then a private adoption is our only option.

Our lawyer fees and the home study will cost us a minimum of $10,000.00. We are doing everything we can to pull the funds together.

Jacey deserves a forever family. In our hearts she is already ours, we just need to make it official.
