I’m Ivin Harper, founder of The 914 Foundation, a grassroots organization serving Westchester County. I started this work out of both pain and purpose. I am a personal health fitness trainer and an upcoming professional actor who had begun landing roles, but in less than a year, I was wrongfully arrested twice on fabricated drug charges by New Rochelle police, and both cases were later dismissed. The slander and false accusations derailed my professional path, damaged my reputation, caused lost employment opportunities, created serious financial strain, and brought deep emotional distress. But instead of letting those experiences define me, I chose to turn them into fuel for something bigger. I have continued showing up for underserved youth and families in my community through mentoring and food outreach, because I know how important support, dignity, and connection are in people’s lives.
Through The 914 Foundation, I want to keep building safer, stronger, and more connected communities. I have already organized successful food giveaways, and now I’m asking for help to grow this work in a sustainable way. Donations will help me establish an office and drop site, and purchase a used van so I can stop relying on costly rentals to transport food and supplies. These resources will allow us to expand our outreach and strengthen our mentoring programs, especially for at-risk youth who need encouragement to focus on pro-social engagement, positive choices, and a stronger vision for their future. Just as importantly, this work is about helping community residents and police come together to change the paradigm of community-police relations through dialogue, trust, and shared commitment. Please support this fundraiser and help me continue this mission. Your generosity will help us reach more people, create more opportunity, and move Westchester County forward together.
