Israel is a dear friend and collaborator. He is a land tender based in Los Angeles, and his life has been dramatically affected by the Eaton Fire. Plant Friends is raising money for Israel on his behalf. Over the past year and a half, we have worked alongside him doing native plant restoration, fruit tree care, earthworks, irrigation and more.

Israel is currently living in a shelter, and we are raising money for him to find housing, pay medical bills and fix his truck. Though his house in Altadena miraculously still stands, he cannot safely return to live there until the water and air quality is proven safe, which could take months to years.

Additionally as an arborist and earthworker, his work puts him at high risk of health impairments within the wake of the fire. Not only have the fires made his work more hazardous, but work has been lost due to the fires. Any contribution will help support his livelihood and safety through this uncertain time.

Israel is trained as a wildland firefighter and has been deployed multiple times through Red Cross to support others affected by fires, hurricanes, and other natural disasters, all volunteer based. He is a man of community service and will go out of his way to put others first. Please help support him as he has supported so many others before <3
