Help Us Give Our Mom the Surgery She Deserves
Hi, I’m Isabel. I’m one of four children to our beautiful mom, Isabel. She’s a mom, a grandmother to 13, and a great-grandmother to 3. She’s the heart of our family and right now, she’s fighting stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
We never thought cancer would touch our family. For months, my mom was told her back pain was “just age,” “just stress,” or “just diabetes.” Every visit was a new pain pill or a brush-off. By the time she went to the emergency room, the cancer had metastasized to other parts of her body.
Still, she fought.
Her oncologist told us, “We treat symptoms as they come.” That wasn’t enough for me. We’ve spent thousands out of pocket trying to keep her healthy before symptoms arrive. And by God’s grace, she’s still strong.
We’ve tried conventional treatments like chemotherapy, but we’re not just waiting and hoping for them to work. We’ve taken action beyond the standard care. We got a second opinion at MD Anderson, where specialists gave us more clarity. Locally, her oncologist doesn’t specialize in pancreatic cancer, so as a family, we chose to work with a naturopathic doctor to support her care.
Together, we’ve explored alternative treatments—high-dose vitamin C, red light therapy, hydrogen water, and medications that had to be sourced internationally. These options haven’t been cheap, but we truly believe that all of these combined have helped stabilize her body and made it possible for her to now qualify for the NanoKnife procedure.
Now—she qualifies for a NanoKnife procedure in Florida. It’s a rare, non-invasive surgery that could extend her life with quality and hope. But it’s not covered by insurance. Only the hospital stay is; the surgeon’s cost is out of pocket.
This surgery is scheduled for August 19, and time is critical.
My brother and I will fly with her to Florida, stay the week post-op for her recovery, and bring her home safely. We are trusting in God and the skill of a compassionate doctor who has offered us a path forward.
We’ve done small fundraisers, but we’re still short. This surgery is beyond our means but not beyond God’s. We believe He’s opening doors and placing the right people in our path.
If you feel led to give, pray, or simply share, thank you. We’re grateful for every bit of support. We believe healing is possible. And we believe our mom’s story isn’t over yet.
With love and faith,
