Support Isabel Jasso's Stroke Recovery Journey

Donation protected
My name is Natividad Perez Herrera, and I never imagined having to request some help in this capacity. Nevertheless, my mother, Isabel Jasso, had a major stroke on Sunday, November 10, 2024. She is currently at UCI Lakewood Health, in Lakewood, CA 90712. She had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a large blood clot that entered the right side of her brain, which caused the stroke. She has been on a ventilator and has no use of her left-side extremities and weakness in her right extremities. It will be a long journey to recovery as she is also unable to speak clearly due to slurred speech caused by the stroke.

My mom was a strong 75-year-old woman who went to church more times in a week than most people do in a year. She was a woman of faith, at times feisty, extremely independent, and always traveling the city despite me telling her, "Mom, slow down," but that’s what made her so amazing. She was determined to get to church just about every day. She lived alone in Hacienda Heights, CA. Sadly, she will need 24-hour care until she rehabilitates. So, I will be transitioning and making a decision to leave what has been my home, "Jersey," for the last 33 years. I have learned as a believer that "AGAPE LOVE" sacrifices and that can only be demonstrated when you are placed in a position to show that God love. Life and God will allow circumstances to determine your faith, your love, and your obedience. I pray that you hear HIS VOICE. I am leaving my children and my grandchildren that I adore. But I know God will be here in California for me and my mom.

It’s mind-blowing because my children and I traveled from Philadelphia on a flight on November 8, 2024. I picked my mom up Saturday at about 9 a.m. I introduced my daughter and her great-granddaughter for the first time, and my son. We spent 2 days together. Sunday evening, my daughter stayed with her at the hotel while my son Justus and I stepped out around 7:30 p.m. We received a chilling call as she screamed, crying, "I don’t know what’s wrong with Niña" (a nickname my children gave her as kids). She can’t move and was scratching the sheets trying to get my daughter’s attention as she could not speak. I instructed her to call 911. I was driving to get to the hospital the ambulance was taking her to. They rushed her in and explained that every second was critical. Once they completed the CT scan, a decision to perform emergency surgery was imperative. They rushed her to surgery.

So I am here now praying that friends, family, and believers in Jesus Christ can step in not only in praying for a full recovery but also in assisting to raise the funds as I will be relocating to take care of her.

It is disheartening that my children met her, and 2 days later, they are watching her fight for her life.

James 5:14-15: "The prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well."
