After time in an emergency shelter, she enrolled in ESL, received counseling, and—with Interval House’s support—secured a safe apartment for her family. Today, Elena is focused on stability and independence. She hopes to continue her education and one day work in real estate, but transportation has become a significant barrier since the short-term rental car that once got her to court dates, services, and visitation is no longer available.
