Help Us Build a Haven for NICU Families at Plano Presbyterian Hospital!
Imagine the unimaginable: having your newborn baby need critical care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The stress, worry, and long hours spent at the hospital can be overwhelming for families. Plano Presbyterian Hospital is committed to supporting these families by building a new Family Center dedicated to the NICU.
In December 2021, I was in a car accident when I was 6 months pregnant, causing our sweet Indy to be born at 28 weeks. Luckily I delivered her at Plano Presbyterian Hospital, which is the only Level IV NICU in Collin County. She stayed there for 54 days while she grew strong enough for Tyler and I to bring her home. For 54 days and nights, Tyler and I sat next to her incubator, constantly watching her monitors, and watching as the nurses cared for our girl. This is where we both held her for the very first time, bathed her, I pumped bedside multiple times a day. It was a long, exhausting, and emotional stay. The nurses and doctors kept us calm and tried to keep us as comfortable as possible.

We are raising funds to equip the new Family Center with essential resources and comforting amenities.
The $2.4 million enhancements will add new amenities for NICU patient families:
Private, spacious rooms with hotel-like feel and furnishings to accommodate overnight stays.
Three double-occupancy rooms to accommodate families of twins.
A welcome lounge with comfortable seating, refrigerator, coffee bar, and desktop work area.
Washer and dryer facilities.
Milk storage refrigerators in each room.
In-room televisions with pillow speakers and free movie channels.
Special sinks designed to accommodate bathing an infant.
Special noise reduction flooring and partitioned area away from main NICU traffic.
Respite lounge for family use.
