Indivisible of Johnston County is a grassroots group of local citizens dedicated to defending democracy and the rule of law. Guided by Indivisible National but independent in its local focus, the group organizes events and campaigns that give like-minded community members a way to participate in the democratic process. Their work has included Meet the Candidate forums, a Veterans Awareness forum, ICE Out For Good demonstrations, and their signature No Kings events.

Right now, Indivisible of Johnston County needs support to continue this work in 2026. Two No Kings events are planned for the summer and fall, and each one requires funding for basic park needs like sanitary facilities and electricity in Clayton, North Carolina. The group also wants to make these events more accessible by renting enough chairs for disabled attendees. At the same time, they are working on a postcard campaign to encourage voter participation through nonpartisan outreach.

These efforts make a real difference in the community. Past events have drawn as many as 1,000 people, and attendees have shared that they feel grateful, energized, and encouraged by seeing so many neighbors committed to democracy. The rallies and demonstrations have created space for people to speak openly, feel heard, and take part in civic life.
