My name is Bryan Wolf Ear, and I am a first-generation residential school survivor. My mother was taken from her family in the 1960s by a system designed to erase our identity and destroy our connection to who we are as Indigenous people. It was cultural genocide, and the impacts are still felt in our families and communities today.

Many of us are still healing. Families were torn apart, children grew up without parents, and generations have struggled to find their way back to each other. I carry this history with me, but I also carry hope.

My mission goes against everything the residential schools stood for. They tried to take away our culture, our language, and our sense of belonging. I want to help bring those things back. I am raising funds to create healing and reconnection programs for Indigenous youth and families. These gatherings will honour our traditions, strengthen relationships, and help us heal together through culture and community.

Funds will go toward family and youth events, mentorship programs, and land-based activities. These programs will help rebuild the connections that were broken and give our youth a stronger foundation for the future.
