We are Yulia Bakman and Helen Gerolaki, local residents of Alexandra Park ward, standing as independent candidates in the May 2025 Haringey council elections.

Our aim is to strengthen local voices and improve transparency and accountability in local decision-making.

This fundraiser is to cover the essential costs of running a small, fair local campaign for both of us. Based on our estimates, this amount should be sufficient and will be used for printing leaflets, stickers, other marketing materials, and to cover the operational costs involved in running the campaign.

As independent candidates, we are not backed by a party machine and are therefore at a disadvantage. Unlike political parties, we do not have access to the electoral register or postal vote data, and we must navigate all legal and compliance requirements ourselves. This involves some unavoidable additional costs.

We can rely only on donations from our community - the people we hope to represent if elected. To ensure full transparency, we will publish a list of campaign expenses so supporters can see exactly how the money is spent.

If there are funds left after the campaign, they will be either refunded or donated to Muswell Hill Food Bank.
