Dear community,

We are asking you to generously help fundraise for a beloved Oakland-based friend and organizer.

After living in the U.S. for over 20 years, C finally has the opportunity to apply for citizenship. However, due to unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances, C must raise a total of $25,000 to cover multiple financial needs by November 15th to submit her citizenship application as soon as possible. This includes legal fees, application processing, and other financial costs. [Update, we've secured some offline support so we've dropped the online GoFundMe to $20K!]

C is a formerly undocumented Bay Area community member, organizer, movement leader, and queer mama. She has dedicated decades to fighting and organizing for immigrant rights, reproductive justice, and global resistance efforts against war and imperialism. She lives in Oakland and works tirelessly to show up for our communities. C truly embodies solidarity and love for her community, and has overextended to uplift and support people time and time again. 

We are all keenly aware of the increasingly scary and threatening reality for our immigrant non citizens and undocumented loved ones under this administration. In this political climate, securing citizenship is more important than ever for C’s safety and her family and loved ones’ peace of mind. This would allow her to continue to bravely organize and throw down for all our people.
