Support immigrant communities in New York City.
Donation protected
The Libertas Center for Human Rights was founded as a volunteer program out of Elmhurst Hospitals Emergency Department to provide services to survivors of torture in New York City. With grant funding in 2010, we were able to open a dedicated space for our community healing center. Over the course of our 14 years in operation, we have provided comprehensive medical, mental health, social, and legal services to our clients, many of whom are seeking asylum in the United States.
Our work is important because no one should be subjected to human rights violations as a result of their identity or sociopolitical affiliations. We hope to facilitate a NYC in which everyone is able to lead healthy, confident, and hopeful lives.
Many of our clients are struggling to meet their basic needs and therefore, donations will be used to further support the provision of vital essentials including but not limited to food, transportation, clothing, emergency cash assistance, and operational expenses.
