Hi, my name is Ilea Rabito, and I'm a senior at Walled Lake Northern High School. As part of my AP Research project, I'm studying how environmental factors may influence microplastics in waterways. Microplastic testing is quite expensive, and with the aim of testing 6 or 8 water samples, the cost is around $1600-2000. Since the school will provide a portion of funding, my goal is to raise enough money to test 8 samples while covering the remaining cost on my own.

The purpose of my research is to determine whether a home's proximity to a lake has an effect on their water's microplastic content, specifically for homes using well water, as well as seeing if microplastics are still present with current filtration and water treatment processes.

I'm very passionate about environmental research as I hope to pursue this path in the future, so being able to conduct this research means a lot to me and any donations would be immensely appreciated! :)
