Support IGAC's mission to purchase its space
Donation protected
We at Intergalactic Arts Collective (IGAC) are actively seeking the community’s support to save IGAC Studio in its current location at 180 Shaw Street, in Toronto ON.
We are currently working hard to purchase our unit but we need support from community members like you to bridge the financial gap and make it happen!
In its current location since 2013, IGAC has been providing accessible, affordable, and flexible space for this city's dance artists and organizations. For over a decade we have been a pillar of the community supporting over 600 artists, many of whom have depended on this space as a regular home for ongoing company and independent activities.
Artist-run spaces are increasingly rare in Toronto. A record number of dance community spaces closed just before and during the pandemic, and this trend is continuing. IGAC has remained a pivotal piece of infrastructure within the city for many artists but especially for the underserved dance community.
We are seeking your help to secure the purchase of IGAC Studio / Unit #103. Time is of the essence since we will need to make a bid this summer. The good news is, we are nearly there! We have accomplished confirming a majority of funds for this purchase thanks to Canadian Heritage and are now just short on closing costs. Your donations will assist us covering these costs which include both lawyer fees and taxes.
Help us to create a clear and sustainable future for IGAC by donating or sharing today!
Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent need,
Jessie Garon, Sara Porter, Tracey Norman, Jessica Runge, Suzanne Liska, and Maxine Heppner
