We believe that hygiene should be a human right, not a privilege. That's why we need your help to donate 2,000+ bars of soap to survivors.
Our names are Melissa, Katelyn, Abby, and Veda, and we are Juniors at the MCVSD Academy of Allied Health and Science. Through our Public Health class, we are partnering with the non-profit S.A.C.K. (Supporting a Community with Kindness) to make a meaningful impact on our community. S.A.C.K. creates handmade, knitted soap sacks filled with bars of soap to alleviate hygiene insecurity.
Our class goal is to fundraise for 2,000 bars of soap to be donated to Mercy Center a non-profit focused on helping children, families, and individuals overcome their burdens and obstacles within their environment. Every bar of soap purchased/donated will be paired with a handmade soap sack, made with love, to give someone the chance to rebuild their life after experiencing trauma.
Why soap?
Because hygiene should be a human right, not a privilege, for survivors entering a shelter with very few belongings, small essentials like soap mean more than we know. Programs like SNAP do not cover hygiene products, and nobody should have to choose between being clean or being fed.
Please help us achieve our goal of 2,000 bars of soap- every donation counts.
$5.00 can purchase up to three bars of soap, which is three lives changed.
