Hy Thurman is a true grassroots organizer who has never given in, and never given up. As part of the Young Patriots Organization, he worked to bring poor white people into the First Rainbow Coalition with the Black Panthers and the Young Lords. He still organizes today as part of the North American School for Organizers, is a prolific public speaker and mentor to young activists.
