Hello, my name is Hunter Locke. I am a Trombone Performance major at Stephen F. Austin State University. It is my dream to earn a doctorate degree and teach trombone at a university or conservatory while also performing in a professional orchestra.

Next semester, I will begin auditioning for graduate programs. I do not come from a wealthy background, so I am working hard to earn as much scholarship funding as possible. To give myself the best chance at success, I believe it is in my best interest to perform on equipment that is custom-tailored to me and allows me to play at the highest level possible. If I play better, I increase my chances of earning scholarships, which ultimately means less student debt.

To help pay for my new trombone, I will be selling my current instrument and working weekends while taking 20+ credit hours each semester. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and will go directly toward helping me reach my goals.

Here is an excerpt from my résumé so you can feel confident that your support is making an investment in someone dedicated and hardworking:

• I perform on alto, tenor, and bass trombone.

• I am the principal of the SFASU Trombone Octet.

• I am the principal of the SFASU Trombone Quartet.

• I am the principal trombone of the SFASU Symphony Orchestra.

• I am the principal of the SFASU Wind Ensemble (SFA’s top band).

• I previously served as principal trombone of the Wind Symphony.

• I am a member of the SFASU New Music Coalition.

Thank you so much for your consideration and support.
