We are working closely with the community in Ban Huay E Kang to create a cartoon children’s book that will pass on knowledge of the history and livelihood of the village.
The book will follow grandparents as they tell the story of the village to their grandchildren, describing past residential life, traditional ceremonies, weaving practices, culture, and the challenges the community now faces.
Noheri, a strong leader in her community, asked us to create a children’s book that the community can read to the new generation, as well as sell in their shop to visitors to share their story.
100% of the money will go towards funding the local Karen digital artist, a digital copy of the book, and printing fees for the physical copies.
We need $1,000 to initiate our collaboration with the artist.
Any donation helps, and by donating $20, you will be buying a digital copy of the book that we can distribute to you.
Thank you for supporting the project and the Huay E Kang community.
