Support HROC: Tenderloin harm reduction and community health
Donation protected
We are writing this fundraiser today to ask for community support. HROC is a small group of volunteers comprised of OG harm reductionists and community health workers.
With the closure of two critical organizations, after other providers had already buckled under political pressure from career-first city officials, the Tenderloin has suffered a significant loss of critically needed human services. Our unhoused, marginally-housed, and unstably-housed neighbors have been left without their basic needs being met, despite the well-demonstrated need.
For the past nine months, we have been out in the streets on Sundays providing whatever we could. We have gotten harm reduction and medical supplies donated, but the need is greater than we’ve been able to meet.
We are looking to raise money to help us become more self-sustained with the goal of keeping up with the ever-growing need.
The money donated would be used for:
• Securing a 501c3 status, which will help us utilize programs that can help us.
• buying our supplies including naloxone to distribute
• bottled water
• to give our amazing community member volunteers a small stipend.
We are trying to fill gaps of service in our community and any donation will help us continue the work. Community takes care of community.
