As many of you have heard by now, House of Little People, a beloved daycare center and UES institution for generations of parents and children, has closed indefinitely.

It was sad and shocking news to families — and especially scary for the staff of teachers and caregivers who suddenly find themselves out of a job.

This fund is to support the newly unemployed staff in a difficult time and meant as an expression of gratitude for their many years of loving and looking after our kids.

Please give what you can and share with fellow alums. And especially the grandparents!

’Besides the obvious financial hardship, it is heartbreaking to separate with all the babies I care for and interact with every day.

Personally, I have been working at the House of Little People for 18 years, and it’s been part of my life.

It has been so rewarding to see many generations grow to be teenagers and I will miss that.

I don’t see myself doing anything other than teaching young souls.’
