Help Me Complete My Eagle Scout Project for Markham Park!

Hello, my name is Horus Chan, and I am a Life Scout in Troop 383 of the Boy Scouts of America, working toward my Eagle Scout rank. As part of my final step in achieving this prestigious rank, I am leading a community service project that will enhance Markham Park in Weston, Florida.

Regarding my Eagle Project, I will be focusing on the Butterfly Garden inside of Markham Park, a pivotal area in the park needing our utmost attention due to the conditions of existing amenities. These seating areas have suffered from years of usage causing them to now be weathered and aged. My plan is to build and install 4 convertible benches that can easily transform into a picnic table while still having a sturdy integrity and a lasting impact. Through thorough research, I've discovered that this unique design provides flexible seating options, making the space more adaptable for park visitors, encouraging recreation and allowing for increased social interaction between park visitors. Whether people want to gather for a meal, relax after a bike ride, or simply enjoy nature, this seating area will offer a welcoming place for everyone.

In addition to the benches, I will be removing the grass around the seating area to create a defined path. This path will be lined with wheat barriers and covered with mulch, forming a cleaner, more accessible surface for visitors. I also plan to repair and improve other damaged items nearby to help revitalize the entire Butterfly Garden area and enhance the experience for all who visit.
