Hello, my name is Hope Hudson. I am 17 years old and a student at Castro Valley High School. One of the most important parts of my life is Scouting. I'm a member of Troop 708 and I'm currently working toward the rank of Eagle Scout.
To achieve Eagle Scout, I must plan, fundraise for, and lead a service project that benefits my community.
I have been involved in Scouting since girls were first allowed to join, starting at age 9. At 14, I attended National Youth Leadership Training and returned the following year as a staff member. I also served as the Senior Patrol Leader of my troop for two years, where I led approximately 30 scouts. Additionally, I am returning for my second year on staff at Wente Scout Reservation, where I will serve as an Area Director for Eagle Trail.
These experiences reflect my dedication to Scouting and the impact it has had on my life. Through this program, I have developed leadership, teamwork, and teaching skills, and gained a community that feels like a second family.
For my Eagle Scout project, I will be building a wheelbarrow pathway and a designated parent waiting area at Proctor Elementary School. I connected with Proctor in November 2025 through my mother, who works there as a para-professional. This project will support the school’s Garden Club by making it easier to transport materials from their shed, currently located 34 feet off a paved path, and by encouraging parents to wait in a designated area rather than walking throughout campus.
In addition to benefiting the school, this project will allow me to give back to my troop by teaching skills, providing service opportunities, and encouraging community involvement.
Any support you are able to give would mean a great deal to me. This project is an opportunity for me to give back to my community and demonstrate the leadership skills I have developed through Scouting.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
