This holiday season, I am dedicated to supporting one of my favorite organizations, Star House. Star House provides Central Ohio’s homeless youth with a safe place to find shelter, work, educational opportunities, healthcare, and other essential resources.
In addition to their 24/7 drop-in shelter, Star House has embarked on a creative joint venture by acquiring two long-uninhabited and unsafe motels near downtown Columbus. These sites are being redeveloped into safe and dignified affordable housing, complete with a suite of services for transition-aged youth.
Upon completion, the project will provide 62 units of affordable housing. Currently, only 20 of these units have been renovated. I invite you to join me in renovating the 21st unit. Together, we can offer a homeless youth a place that feels safe and, most importantly, a place that feels like home.
The estimated cost to renovate one unit is $5,000. I have set a goal to raise $7,500 and would be deeply grateful for your support.
