My name is Brian Wolverton, and I am a teacher at Northern Burlington High School. Recently, I learned that two of my students have become homeless and have been living in their car. Despite these incredibly difficult circumstances, both students continue to come to school every day and work hard, showing remarkable resilience and determination. One of them, who has a driver’s license, even works a full-time job in addition to attending school. They are kind, sweet, and so grateful for any help they receive.

Our school administration, Child Study Team, and Counseling Services are doing everything they can to support these children. Alongside fellow staff members and my wife Donna, I am working to help them as well. We have managed to secure temporary shelter and are making sure their basic needs are met until a more permanent solution can be found. However, their situation remains urgent. Their car, which is their only means of transportation and shelter, has over 280,000 miles on it and is unreliable. They need a safe place to live, reliable transportation, and support for daily essentials like food and clothing.

We are raising funds to continue supporting these students during this challenging time. Every donation will go directly toward providing housing, car repairs, food, clothing, and other essentials.
