Since last month’s vote, Historians for Palestine has grown from a handful of people to over a hundred. We started a newsletter (the Al-Nashra Dispatch) that now has almost 600 subscribers and our month-old Instagram account with over 2,300 followers (the AHA only has 3,000) is nearing a million views. We have been publishing op-eds, working on videos about Palestinian history, organizing meetings of AHA affiliate societies, developing panels centering Palestine for AHA 2026, and helping with our allied group Historians for Peace and Democracy's letter to the AHA council.
To build a powerful, radical force of historians centering Palestine and demanding the transformation of our profession, we need your help. Building this kind of capacity and campaign takes time, and it takes money. We are trying to raise $15,000 right now to: (1) pay for the labor of our part-time organizer; (2) build and maintain our tech infrastructure; and (3) develop a mutual aid model to support people going to AHA.
With your help we can achieve our long-term goal to democratize the AHA and build solidarity across the historical profession. We believe that fighting fascism requires courageous, democratic institutions, who stand for Justice in Palestine and here in the United States.
