Hello friends, family, colleagues, and community members in solidarity:

I am eager to share that my artists' collaborative, Higher Ground: Music of the People, will be joining with other community partners in a statewide rally and concert in honor of the great Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, 1/19/2026.

I started this group in response to concerns I had going into the 2024 election. I felt helpless, fearful, and deeply disturbed by rhetoric coming out of the MAGA movement and its leaders. I felt called to do something, and I honestly felt God say to me one day, "Do a music thing." Ha! Really--those were the words! So I listened! I immediately started organizing some of the best musicians and vocal artists in the Twin Cities! We have now presented two events that have been very well-received. Many of our guests in attendance at our events have stated that our music, our testimonies, and our personal artist connections have provided the much-needed hope, inspiration, and sense of community they have been longing for.

Once again, I find that our work is more important than ever. I will be raising all the funds to compensate our artists, present the concert, and give back to our communities. I am asking for your help if you are able.

We will perform a short set at a rally at St. Paul College at 1:30 pm on MLK, Jr. Day, Monday, 1/19/2026, and then we will perform a concert and program in honor of Dr. King's legacy and in memory and honor of Renee Nicole Good, killed by ICE on 1/7/2026 in Minneapolis.

Our friends at BLM-MN, MIRAC, and Twin Cities Coalition for Justice, and many other community partners are also participating in this event. We are humbled, grateful, and honored to join with these incredible community organizers for this event.
