As someone who grew up with a single parent on disability, struggling to take care of their family, we often turned to SNAP benefits for several months during my upbringing. Without these benefits, my Dad and I would have never made it....
With the impending discontinuation of SNAP benefits in November, I'd like to help raise money for a local, non-profit, food-bank that supports the local community - Hidden Harvest in Saginaw, MI.
Please donate whatever you feel you can afford! From my research, the best donation is cash, as for every $1.00 donated, they can usually buy approximately $2.75 in bulk groceries! If that doesn't work for you, donating non-perishables to your local food bank works as well! Donating your time is also an incredible option that these places are always looking for!
For more info on Hidden Harvest in Saginaw, MI, please visit their website!
Thank you so much to everybody who is able to contribute! I will be starting personally with a $100 donating from the Saj household.
