Hi, my name is Ivar and I'm fundraising for E.
This campaign is for E. (name withheld for her safety), a writer who has been forced to live outside her home country due to political pressure under an authoritarian regime. For the past year and a half, she has been surviving across borders with her dog, navigating uncertainty, displacement, and financial instability—without giving up her sense of purpose.
The followings are her words, and she wants to tell you herself:
"I am one of those people who were forced to leave their country. Because my sense of justice is strong, I could never suppress this voice inside me. I stood by those who could not speak out against inequality and injustice for themselves. At times, I participated in protests for these people. But my most important contribution to the people was my writings. Even though I anticipated what might happen to me because of my writings. And so it happened; I was sued by my country's authoritarian regime ruler/authorities, because of my writings. I had to leave my country. I took my dog and two suitcases and left the country a year and a half ago. I have been trying to work as a freelance writer. A life spent in motel rooms, constantly having to move from one country to another. I struggled a lot with hunger, or with questions like 'Will we have a place to stay tonight?' I couldn't even attend my mother funeral during this period at my home country.
But, do you know? When I put my head on the pillow at nights, I feel peaceful and I never regret what I've written. Now, I need your help to move forward. Because I realize I can't progress any further like this. I need to build a healthier life for both myself and my dog, but my financial resources are almost nonexistent. I need your support so that we can at least live more healthier for the next six months. I don't want to give up, I don't want to be defeated. I need your support to avoid defeat. I need to feel also that I am not alone. I want to step in the new year with hope that will be given by the people who have beautiful hearts which I will always feel them near by me. Thank you..."
She is my E. My precious friend.
As a friend of her, I can tell you that E. is not someone who waits to be rescued. She is resilient, independent, and deeply principled. Even in extreme conditions—periods of hunger, unstable housing, and exhausting travel—she has continued to work quietly on a book she believes must be finished next to her freelance writing works. Those who know her describe her as thoughtful, disciplined, helpful and unusually perceptive; and who refuses to surrender her inner direction even when circumstances are harsh. She also always believes in humanity, in humans' hearts. She believes that a human heart is not a place to hide, it is a place to open.
Her life over the last eighteen months has been difficult. But she insisted to move forward for her dog and herself. Living as a foreigner, moving between countries, and protecting both herself and her dog has demanded strength that often goes unseen. This campaign is about creating enough ground beneath her feet so she can complete the work she has been building under pressure.
E. is a highly capable writer. Her strength lies in clarity of thought, original insight, and the ability to shape complex ideas into meaningful narrative. She is not prolific for the sake of visibility; she writes with intention. The book she is completing is the result of sustained effort under conditions that would have stopped most people long ago.
But now, as she told you too, she needs your help anymore. Because she is aware of she cannot continue without getting help. Recently she told me:
"If we stop here and cannot forward, why did we even get this far?" She doesn't want to stop. E. knows very well all struggles in life are not in vain.
The goal of this campaign is to raise at least $20.000 USD. This amount will allow E. to secure 6 months term stability—housing, basic living expenses, and the space to complete and prepare her manuscript for publication.
When her book is published, everyone who supported this campaign will receive a free copy of her work in e-book form as a gesture of gratitude and transparency. This is not a donation into the void; it is direct support for the completion of a real work by a real person who has already done the hardest part—continuing.
If you believe in helping someone who has refused to give up, this is your chance to be a part of.
I believe in her, I also promise her that one beautiful sunset evening we'll sit side by side, talking to each other for a long time and even maybe saluting with a nice drink. We'll make this happen one happy day!
Let's give her and her dog to chance to move forward. We can do that!
Because of the security reasons I cannot put her picture. But the dog in the photo is her dog.
