HELP OUR FAMILY SUPPORT ROLAND FIGHT STAGE 4 STOMACH CANCER
In January of this year, our world was turned completely upside down when, devastatingly, Roland was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. It was possibly the worst news I could have ever received, being that I was 39 weeks pregnant with our first son, Malachi. Having only his mother, sister, and brother by his side, who live out of town, it gets hard. Roland is not able to work, and I am self-employed, struggling but surviving the best way we can. We also have a 6-year-old son, Jovan, who loves his dad to the moon and back.
Being diagnosed with Stage 4 gastrointestinal (GI) cancer, also known as metastatic or advanced cancer, signifies that the cancer has spread beyond the initial site of the digestive tract to other parts of the body. This stage is characterized by cancer cells traveling through the lymphatic or blood systems and forming tumors in distant organs. He is offered a few treatments to help the cancer stay level and not get worse, but because the insurance is not supporting much that he truly needs as far as the surgeries and medication that will help his nausea and immune system so he can eat, is why I am in need of your help!!
Roland has undergone multiple treatments and tests, including chemotherapy 3 times a month, which is by far the worst thing to watch your spouse and family member go through. Every treatment is different, and this one treatment causes him to throw up 4 times a day, losing 25 lbs a week. With the kids and all that is being placed upon us, we try and keep our faith strong and alive at all times, hoping for a miracle and grace!!
We are humbly asking for your support to help cover his expenses that MedCal is not offering. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference. Your donations will go directly towards Roland's medical bills and related costs, allowing our family to focus on his daily needs.
